I had the please of being able to photograph the Peel and Western Anti Cancer annual fashion show at the Peel Centenary Centre on 23rd November 2018. Lots of fun and lots of money raised in a great cause. All clothes supplied by Anabela's of Peel, well worth a browse around when you are in Peel.
Below are a few images from the night.
While on walk aboutin Douglas in August 2016 with my Nikon FE2 and a roll of Ilford Delta 400 I came accross a potter working inside Douglas Market Hall, I could see the concentration and so with out intruding I managed to get an image I was so pleased with when I had developed the roll of film.
I found out who the potter was and sent a copy of the image to her and thought no more about it.
Then out of the blue this week the potter that was hard at work, Katy Mitchell, emailed me to ask if I would give permission for an Austrailian ceramics journal to print the image...wow someone wants to print my work. I replied and said I would be honoured.
Well, at last, finally. After many years of dreaming I have finally purchased my self a digital back for my beloved Mamiya 645 afd. Don't get me wrong, I still love and shoot film, but this has been on my wish list for such a long time, had to sell most of my film cameras to get there but....
What do I think? Wow. After reading many an article on the Phase One P+ series and expecting to run into lots of noise at 800 iso, I have found very little. So far I have shot in daylight from
100-800 iso and I can't describe how impressed I am with the results. Yes, compared to my Nikon D3 the rear LCD is nothing to write home about but the quality of the images when processed through Capture One, Wow.
Below is a quick image I took of my beautiful wife at the weekend:
Its said the P+ series has a film like quality due to the fat pixels, I can't disagree.
As I get more time in and become more comfortable with the back I will post more images andcomment further on this wonderful and relatively affordable digital back.
Welcome, please look around, feel free to comment and if you like what you see please get in touch I would love to provide you with beautiful memories.
